Students will be given the unique ability to work with local industry to generate knowledge and understanding of the processes associated with professions in fabrication, construction and manufacturing.

Manufacturing is a booming industry, and local businesses and corporations are seeking candidates who are trained to understand the processes of creating goods. Students will learn through hands on experience how to create products start to finish, and the important metrics that measure success. Our class will cover how the facilities are laid out, all of the different jobs that go into production, quality control, administration, etc. Projects that students will do will pertain to creating their own manufacturing plant and implementing processes that contribute towards manufacturing their own products.
Construction careers cover everything from general contractors to working on large structures, such as buildings and highways. We will cover all of the math and explore each career opportunity from union specialists to average homeowner. Students projects will consist of self supporting structures commonly found around homes.
Fabrication utilizes many methodologies to bring geometry to life. Students will engage in drafting, welding, metal bending and shaping, and learn metallurgy to better understand structure strength and the best materials to utilize for particular projects. Students will make art, and common household items that make life easier and will bring life to some cold hard metal.

GAVC is teaming up with the best of the best in the area to ensure that our students set the bar for professionalism, work ethic, and practical knowledge to ensure that our graduates are already transitioning into a career before graduating high school.
Students will be utilizing the latest technology in manufacturing facilities, but on a smaller scale. Many of the processes will be replicated that you will see in touring a facility, or recreated in a virtual environment to simulate an advanced specialized machine.

Students will be given projects across many areas to aid in their scientific process development, and help narrow down the options for a future career. We will map out many options and pursue the career areas that interest each student.
Understanding facility operations, layouts, and support systems to aid in the overall function of a company and its associates. Teaching students why things are what, and where, they are leads to a "bigger picture" understanding so they can better contribute to the companies goals.
